In My Reading Era... Book Reviews #1

Thursday, July 20, 2023

If you had told me a year ago today that I have read 26 books in the past year I would laugh in your face.

I have never been a reader, maybe in high school I read a book a year, maybe... Well now since last July, I have read 26 books and counting. I am wanting to start adding my reviews on my blog now. I am also going to try my best to leave SPOILERS out. If I need to add a spoiler, I will make a note before you continuing reading.

If you would like to keep up with current reads, quick reviews after I finish a book, you can follow me on my GoodReads account. I am obsessed with it to keep track of all the books I want to read, currently reading, and finished.

To start I want to go all the back to the books that started this new era for me. Colleen Hoover, you are the one that started it all.

IT ENDS WITH US - BY: Colleen Hoover

Last summer I was seeing all over TikTok It Ends With Us book and how it was going to be a movie, so I decided to start there.

Read in 3 days.

Overview: To start out this was a great book to start out with my reading era. I am so excited for the movie! Lily seems like a down to earth girl who loves flowers and opens her own business. She meets Ryle, the tough neurosurgeon who you will just want to know more about. He has a bad boy vibe but easy to fall in love with. Lily and Ryle start dating and getting closer, then someone from Lily's past comes back into her life. Her first love. After noticing its him, Atlas. Everything else goes crazy. Ryle has a secret you do not expect.

SPOILER: Look up trigger warnings!

Rating: 5 Stars -- Overall this is such a great book. You will want to finish it as soon as you can. You will feel so many emotions with all the characters. Lily is such a strong
and brave character, she will teach you important lessons based on what happens in the book.

VERITY - BY: Colleen Hoover

Read in 3 days.

Overview: Lowen was found by Jeremy to finish his injured wife's remaining series. She arrives at their home to live and be able to get in the mindset of Verity with her notes in her office. Lowen finds what it seems to be an unfinished autobiography. This allows Lowen to get to know Verity and her family even more. In this she finds out so many secrets that Verity has kept and some are very disturbing. As Lowen tries to continue the series, she finds herself being watched and creeped out by the stories in what Verity wrote. Also, there is a connection formed between Lowen and Jeremy that grows strong throughout the book.

SPOILER: Look up trigger warnings!

Rating: 5 Stars -- MUST READ. Holy cow, seriously. This was such a great book, I couldn't put it down! I still think about this book a year later. I am still really unsure if I am team manuscript or team letter. I wouldn't say that this is a romance book, but it definitely has it between Lowen and Jeremy. I love the thriller in this book the most. Verity gives off the best creepy and stalker vibes!
